Yesterday was a great day for the Detroit Tigers in the daily fantasy world from the pitching & hitting side. Michael Fulmer pitched six shutout innings, the Tigers offense was absolutely on fire & the Blue Jays still can’t hit to save their lives. All-in-all, a solid day for DraftKings daily fantasy baseball players.
On Tuesday night, the Tigers will be facing right-handed Blue Jays starter Aaron Sanchez, who is 5-1 this year with a 2.99 ERA. He has been one of the bright spots for Toronto this year, & in his last three starts, he is 2.0 with a 2.23 ERA with 19 strikeouts. The good news for the Tigers is that he hasn’t faced the Detroit hitters much in his career – the bad news is that only Nick Castellanos & J.D. Martinez have hits on Sanchez, and they only have a combined 3 at-bats total.
For DraftKings daily fantasy, no one in the Tigers lineup intrigues us from the cash game standpoint, but in a GPP format, there are a few players who could have some success against Sanchez.
Matt Boyd – Detroit Tigers Starting Pitcher
Boyd has pitched well in his two starts this year for the Detroit Tigers & the great part about facing Toronto is that they don’t have a long track of film on him & as a team, the Blue Jays are only hitting .237 as a team this year, 25th in the Majors. On DraftKings, he is priced at $6,200, which should be a steal for Tuesday night. In his last start against the Yankees last Thursday, Boyd took a no-hitter into the 7th inning before the Yankees hit him for 4 runs.
Kinsler went 2-5 on Monday night against the Blue Jays & has been hitting very well since moving into the leadoff position, hitting in front of a red-hot Cameron Maybin, Miguel Cabrera & Victor Martinez. Pitchers don’t have an easy out until possibly the 8th & 9th positions in the lineup, which means Kinsler should continue to get good pitches to hit. Kinsler is currently priced at $4,400 for tonight’s game.
Upton looks to finally be coming out of his early season slump, hitting in four consecutive games & averaging 8 DraftKings DFS points in the last three games. Upton is priced low at $3,000 & would be a great play in a GPP game on Tuesday.
