DraftKings NBA DFS Fantasy Picks – December 17, 2016

Andre Drummond DraftKings

While many of you are freezing around the country with the cold spell coming, time to heat up on DraftKings NBA for December 17, 2016. With that said, here is our breakdown for tonight’s NBA games.

Best Games For DraftKings NBA Stacked Lineups

Houston Rockets (-5.5) vs Minnesota Timberwolves (222)

The Rockets set the all-time NBA record for 3-pt shots attempted & made on Friday night, & their offensive pace is among the best in the NBA. Everyone gets opportunities to score big every night, especially now with James Harden passing more than ever before. Minnesota is a team on the rise, but has some amazing talent that can get big DK points every night in Towns, Wiggins & Levine. With the Rockets coming off of a game Friday, look for the T-Wolves to possibly move the ball much more aggressively against the Rockets, and right back at them. Should be a lot of transition opportunities in this one.

Portland Trail Blazers vs Golden State Warriors (-13) (232)

In this game, there are a ton of elite scorers on both rosters that can win some money for DK players on Saturday night. Stephen Curry vs Damian Lillard will be a great scoring bonanza due to the fact that neither guy plays a lot of defense against each other & both are the catalysts for their team’s offenses. The Warriors will always have the big 4 in Durant, Green, Klay & Curry, and with this matchup, the edge goes to Curry slightly because Portland is terrible in terms of giving up the most DK points to the PG position. If usage is an issue, Lillard might be a better option because the majority of the shots are going to be split between Lillard & C.J. McCollum.

Feel comfortable playing with any of the players listed above as there should be plenty of points to go around in this game.

LeBron James, Kyrie Irving & Kevin Love Will Look To Put On A Show Against Lakers

Earlier this week, the talk of the NBA world was the fact that LeBron James, Kyrie Irving, & Kevin Love did not travel to Memphis to play the Grizzlies on the second part of a back-to-back – the only time they were going to be in Memphis. This could be the type of situation where these elite players – especially LeBron – will want to the rest of the league who they are & have something to prove. With the three fully rested, we could completely see them taking out some frustration out on a Lakers team that, on paper, can not & have no business hanging in with the Cavs. The Lakers are in the lower half of the league in terms of each position these three play and don’t be afraid of playing them together or taking some of the players. Look at Kyrie Irving in particular – he will be going against either Lou Williams or┬áD’Angelo Russell, especially since Russell is still working his way back from injury.

Don’t Be Afraid of Detroit Pistons Andre Drummond In Back-To-Back

Rule of thumb in DraftKings daily fantasy NBA is to stay away from players that are involved in back-to-back games – unless you are thinking about using the Pistons Andre Drummond. In his last two games that were on the backend of back-to-back games, he has averaged 53 DK points. His style of play that leans on rebounding & scoring around the basket are effort plays as opposed to having plays run for him on a set basis like many of the stars have to have in the NBA. In our opinion, Drummond is the best option at the C position on Saturday night against Indiana.

Wilson Chandler, Danilo Galinari, Trevor Ariza Are Solid Sleeper Picks For Saturday at Forward Position

If you are looking for some great talent at low prices, go with the forwards Chandler & Galinari from the Nuggets & Trevor Ariza from the Houston Rockets.

Chandler & Galinari are interesting picks because the Knicks are giving up the 3rd most points to small forwards in all of DraftKings DFS & both guys have been playing strong recently as the Nuggets are looking to show they are on the rise for the future. Trevor Ariza is a good pick for under $6,000 simply due to him getting open shot opportunities from an up-tempo Rockets offense & so much of the attention on the court is on James Harden. Against a young Timberwolves team, the steady veteran Ariza should be able to get some open 3-point chances.
