DraftKings NFL DFS Picks – Week 6

Kareem Hunt Fantasy DraftKings
Kareem Hunt has shown to be one of the elite running backs in the NFL over the first part of the season, and a big reason the Chiefs are undefeated.

As we look into Week 6 of the NFL season, we have a pretty good idea of our DraftKings picks. Of course, anything can change in the league at anytime, but the players have leveled out a bit. There are some solid opportunities for big points this week also. With that said, here are our picks for the week.

DraftKings NFL DFS Quarterbacks

Matthew Stafford ($6,500)

Stafford is coming into this game against New Orleans with a bum ankle. According to the Lions though, this shouldn’t stop Stafford from taking the field against one of the worst pass defenses in the NFL. The injury makes him a guy that shouldn’t be remotely considered for cash games. For GPP, Stafford has enough strong weapons around him to make the former #1 pick from Georgia a good play here.

He only has one game this year over 20 DK points (week 1), but the New Orleans D is just that terrible. With the running game getting new life under Jim Bob Cooter this year, Stafford should be able to keep defenses honest & let Golden Tate & Kenny Golladay have big days.

Drew Brees – $7,200

On the flip side of the QB coin in this game, Drew Brees is a great play against the Lions. The Lions defense ranks 27th in pass defense in the NFL right now, giving up 255 yards per game. Brees, despite not having big time weapons around him, is still averaging 20 DraftKings points per game. He comes into Week 6 with a 108.3 passer rating, 8 touchdowns & no interceptions.

Of the four games the Saints have played this year, he has only one game where he hasn’t thrown less than two TDs. The Lions defense has had 4 straight weeks of declining DK points on defense, having a season-worst 3.0 points in their loss last week against the Panthers.

Kirk Cousins ($6,800)

Cousins has really come into his own after a rough first two games of the season. He has a QB rating of 133 over his last two games, with 5 touchdowns & 0 interceptions. He has also been accurate & efficient, going 39-54 in those games.

He will go up against a 49ers defense that has given up over 280 passing in three straight games. The defense, overall, doesn’t have a game this year where they had over 8 DraftKings fantasy points as a unit.  Look for the former Michigan State Spartans QB to have a big day against a 49ers squad that is clearly looking at next season.

DraftKings NFL DFS Running Backs – Week 6

Kareem Hunt – ($8,200)

Hunt is clearly running the ball better than anyone in the NFL right now. His offensive line has been solid, he gets to the next level very well, and can get by any secondary in the league.

He has gone over 100 yards four of his first five games, getting increased amounts of carries in the last three games (17, 21, 29), and has only fumbled once this year. With Alex Smith playing at a high level right now, that Steelers defense won’t be able to put eight guys in the box to stop Hunt consistently.

Speaking of the Steelers, the team is giving up 138 rushing yards per game, 30th in DraftKings NFL. The Steelers have given up over 220 rushing yards in two of their last three games. If the team couldn’t stop Leonard Fournette on a Jaguars team that is limited in the passing game, the Chiefs should be able to consistently pound the rock at this unit again & again.

Leonard Fournette – $8,000

Fournette is an absolute freak that is just getting better each week. After a big time game in week 1, the #4 overall pick from LSU dipped a bit, but got healthy on the Steelers last week.

We like Fournette against a Rams defense that has had trouble against the run. Los Angeles is allowing over 133 yards per game on the ground, 26th in DraftKings NFL. Where there could be a interesting matchup is how the Jags will gameplan running away from all-pro DT Aaron Donald.

The Jags have clearly made Fournette the focus of the offense in the running game & as a help in the passing game. Even if he doesn’t get the same bruising workload as Hunt, look for some good DK points from LF in gaining receptions.

Chris Thompson – ($5,000)

Thompson is a guy that would be a good play in GPP formats. His rushing numbers have been a bit up & down, but he has 14 catches out of the backfield on the season. With the 49ers having a very weak defense, and having linebackers that aren’t the best, look for Thompson & the Washington offense to take advantages of potential mismatches and have open lanes to run free.

DraftKings NFL DFS Wide Receivers – Week 6

Larry Fitzgerald ($6,800)

It seems as though father time has not caught up to the future Hall-of-Famer Larry Fitzgerald. He caught an amazing game-winning pass two weeks ago against the 49ers in overtime, and even though he is going towards the end of his career, he has over 10 targets in three of five games this season.

The Bucs are a team on the rise, but they are allowing 308 passing yards per game, second-worst in the NFL. In four games, the best number for passing yards allowed was 288. If Carson Palmer continues to go to ol’ reliable & keep the turnovers low, look for a big day in your DraftKings lineup for Fitz.

Michael Thomas ($7,200)

To be honest, there isn’t much to say here other than this guy is Drew Brees’ number 1 target. That enough is a big reason to play him in a stack. For a bit more clarity, Thomas has at least five catches in each game this season. Even though he doesn’t have a 100-yard game yet, he has two straight games over 20 DraftKings points.

With a Lions defense that is stout against the run but weak against the pass, and not having an established running game, Brees is probably going to put the ball up about 40-45 times. Look for Thomas to be a big benefactor of those passes.

Antonio Brown – $9,300

Brown has put up big numbers this season, as usual, but he has been off lately. The Steelers offense has not performed nearly to expectations so far in 2017. AB will get his numbers & live up to fantasy expectations, but look for him to try & show that he is clearly the best reeiver in the NFL against a weak KC pass defense.

The matchup to watch here is when top CB Marcus Peters is on him. Ben Roethlisberger is the type that will push the ball deep often, and Brown should be able to have a good week on Peters & the other members of the secondary that will try to match speed against one of the fastest guys in the game.

DraftKings NFL DFS Tight Ends – Week 6

Rob Gronkowski – $6,800

Gronk is averaging 79 yards per game, tops among tight ends. When he is healthy, he is a nightmare for teams. Tom Brady is not working comfortably with his weapons at WR right now, so look for Gronk to have double digit targets against the Jets. Two of the last three games he has been involved in, he has over 22 DraftKings points.

Austin Sefarian-Jenkins – $4,300

In the three games Jenkins has played in this year, he has over 4 targets in each one. He has been a key part of the Jets surprisingly good offense. With the Patriots pass defense ranking last in the league, look for Josh McCown to use Jenkins as a safety blanket underneath consistently on Sunday.
