After a hiatus from writing on the blog, we are back & talking some DraftKings NBA DFS for Monday night, November 13, 2017. There is a full slate of games for the evening, so enough talk, let’s get right to the picks. This post starts off with the point guards.
DraftKings NBA DFS Picks – Point Guard – November 13, 2017
John Wall – $9,300
John Wall is having a typical strong Wall season. He had his floor for the last 10 game stretch with 31 DraftKings points in the win on Saturday vs Atlanta. However, it should be noted that Wall only played 24 minutes in the game due to recovering from a light illness.
Wall should be a play in tournaments, mainly. Sacramento has given up the 8th lowest average DK points to point guards this season at just over 56. Rookie PG DeAaron Fox is showing that he is the real deal & the Kings have shown tons of fight this year. Because of the price of Wall Monday night, he may have some low ownership across various Draftkings tournament formats.
Lonzo Ball – $7,300
Most of the TV & sportsradio pundits get on Lonzo because of his perceived lack of aggressiveness on the court. Well, for DFS owners, he is doing just fine. He gets the stats that not every point guard gets on a normal basis – rebounds & high levels of assists. In his last three games, the #2 pick out of UCLA has over 33 DK points & had a season high of 71 DK points on Saturday against Milwaukee.
The Suns are in the rebuilding mode completely, especially with Eric Bledsoe gone. The Suns give up the 4th most DraftKings NBA points to the point guard position (64.8). Their defense has been better in the last 5 games, giving up an average of 53.9 points. However, the team has a high Vegas point total & the Suns (2nd) and Lakers (4th) are top 5 in offensive pace per game.
This should be a high pace, high point game with two teams that don’t play great defense. Roll with Lonzo in this one.
Dennis Schroeder – $7,100
Dennis Schroeder has had a solid year as the PG of the Atlanta Hawks. While is coming off his worst game of his career so far, going 2-16 from the field shooting wise, he has had over 35 DK points in 8 of his last 10 games.
On top of that, the Pelicans have been terrible at guarding the point guard position. In the last 5 games, the Pelicans have been going through a major defensive slump. The team has allowed an average of 70.5 DraftKings points in the last 5 games. We don’t see this trend slowing down anytime soon & Schroeder is due for a bounce back game quickly.
Ben Simmons ($7,100)
Simmons has played like an MVP so far this year. With so much attention on Joel Embiid for the bulk of the year, Simmons is truly carrying the Sixers right now. In his last 10 games, Simmons’ floor is only 31, and his ceiling is 56.25.
The Sixers are playing against the Clippers, who might be without Patrick Beverley, who has missed the last two games with a sore knee. Even if Beverley comes back, Simmons may try to test his lateral quickness on that knee. If Beverley is out, the bulk of the PG minutes will most likely go to Lou Williams & Austin Rivers, neither are great on-ball defenders. Furthermore, with Simmons being nearly 6’10”, he will have a true advantage against guys who are not great at really getting into his face a lot.
Look for Simmons to have a strong night in the late night slate of games.
