DraftKings NFL DFS Quarterbacks Week 2 Must Plays

This week, there are plenty of great opportunities for quarterbacks to gain big points – but also lose some points for your team if not careful. We will look at the top five quarterbacks to play in this edition of DraftKings NFL DFS Quarterbacks Week 2 Must Plays here at DraftKingsMaster.

DraftKings NFL DFS Quarterbacks Week 2 Must Plays

Drew Brees – $7,200

This is normally a no-brainer. Drew Brees looks to be in mid-season form already for the New Orleans Saints. After putting up 435 yards last week in the loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, look for Brees to continue to light it up in the Superdome against the Browns. To their credit, the Browns secondary did well against the Steelers, giving up only 21 points. However, from the passing game, they allowed Ben Roethlisberger to throw for 335 yards. This is a slam dunk with the Saints having more weapons available than the Steelers did last week.

Ben Roethlisberger – $6,900

Big Ben comes into the week officially listed as questionable. However, there seems to be little doubt that he will be under center against the Chiefs. While the Chiefs were exciting last week, they allowed 418 passing yards to Philip Rivers & the Los Angeles Chargers. Coming into the weekend, the Chiefs overall defense is ranked 32nd in the NFL. With the emergence of James Conner at the RB position replacing Le’Veon Bell, Roethlisberger will force the Chiefs into some man-to-man matchups with the wide receivers. Antonio Brown & Ju-Ju Smith-Schuster will have opportunities to run free in a big way.

Philip Rivers – $6,700

Philip Rivers from the Los Angeles Chargers is a gun slinger at the heart. Anytime the Chargers are behind, Rivers will depend on getting the ball down the field quickly. He loves getting the ball to Keenan Allen, will lineup Melvin Gordon III at the outside or out of the backfield catching passes, or get some mismatches with Mike Williams. With the offensive firepower around him, and a Bills team that looked awful against the Ravens, Rivers is available at a great value. Under $7,000 for a guy who is almost always going to gain 350-400 yards a game is a true steal.

Patrick Mahomes – $6,100

In his first start of the season & as the future of the Kansas City Chiefs, Mahomes showed no fear or nerves. He carved up the Los Angeles Chargers defense for four touchdowns & zero interceptions. Most of the action went to Tyreek Hill, who had a monster day, but almost nothing went to all-pro tight end Travis Kelce. That should change this week against the Steelers, who allowed 106 yards to Jarvis Landry, who is not a slouch a WR, but doesn’t have a great QB throwing to him in Tyrod Taylor. Mahomes is far better than Taylor in our opinion & the KC offense is much more potent than the Browns. At $6,100 Mahomes should be able to get 3x -4x in DraftKings DFS value.

Jimmy Garoppolo – ($6,000)

A bit of a sleeper here, but Garoppolo has a chance to have a big day in the home opener against a Lions team who is struggling right now. Many people are judging Jimmy G because of his debut against the Vikings, but the Vikings have a SuperBowl-level defense, so the criticism is not completely fair. The Lions defense actually did well against the rookie Sam Darnold and the Jets, but it was everywhere else where the Lions failed completely. We believe Jimmy G should be in the 20-25 DK range here, with the opportunity to get much higher. At $6,000, this is a great value in order to build up the other areas of the roster.
