With the playoffs on the horizon, this is the time of the year where players turn up the voltage a bit. All of the games are going to mean much more & the primetime slates will loom large. In the DraftKings NFL Thursday Night Showdown this week it is the New Orleans Saints taking on the Dallas Cowboys at Jerryworld. Drew Brees leads one of the most potent offenses in the league into Dallas to take on a Cowboys team that is in the playoff hunt. The ‘Boys feature one of the top defenses in the NFL right now, so it should be a fun matchup. Here are our DraftKings NFL Thursday Night Showdown Picks Saints vs Cowboys Week 13 here at DraftKingsMaster.
DraftKings NFL Thursday Night Showdown Picks Saints vs Cowboys Week 13
Stack – Drew Brees (Captain – $15,900) to Michael Thomas – $11,600
Can’t beat this stack at anytime. In daily fantasy, we never go against Brees, Mahomes or Goff this year. It has proven to be fun & lucrative for us. Brees is having an MVP level season & would get more love if it were not for Mahomes & Goff. He has thrown 4 touchdowns in three of his last four games, with the one game he didn’t, he threw for 3 touchdowns. Michael Thomas has been the top weapon for Brees to throw to this season. Thomas averages 7 catches & nearly 100 yards per game. The Cowboys have a top 10 pass defense, but the Saints offense is just that good.
Ben Watson can be a sneaky pick at $2,600
Watson is one of the top TEs in the modern era of the NFL. Yes, he is on the downside of his career now, but Drew Brees is putting in energy making sure Watson is a part of the offense. At under $3,000, Watson is the type of guy to not spend a ton on, but will get opportunities to have big results. Brees likes to spread the ball around to a bunch of guys, so look for Watson to help challenge that Cowboys defense.
Mark Ingram Has Strong Fantasy Value In This Type of Game
Mark Ingram has been enjoying some strong seasons being matched up with Alvin Kamara. While Kamara is not trending right over the last few games, but is still expensive, Ingram is a nice play at under $8,000. There should be opportunities for the Saints to get some running room with the Dallas Cowboys defense most likely focusing on shutting down the passing game. Ingram can catch balls nicely & hits the hole very well, giving the Saints that power option. Ingram has over 25 DraftKings NFL fantasy points in two of his last three games. The Cowboys defense can only lock in on so many players at once, and look for Ingram to have opportunities to gain big DFS points.
Amari Cooper & Cole Beasley Should Get Majority of Targets For Cowboys.
While the Cowboys offense is not pretty to watch, they have been effective during their three game winning streak. Most of this new energy comes from bringing in Amari Cooper from the Raiders during the bye week. Thanksgiving was a true breakout as a Cowboys player, going for 9 catches at 180 yards and two touchdowns. The Saints have the 30th ranked pass defense in the NFL, so look for Cooper to have a big night against the weak Saints secondary.
The same can be said for Cole Beasley. Beasley will be a role player & that slot nightmare for the Saints defense. While the Saints will have to handle Ezekiel Elliott & most likely bring two men over the top on Cooper, Beasley should be able to get a handful of receptions to take pressure off Dak Prescott. Beasley still gets a healthy amount of targets (with the exception of last game where he had only two), and should be able to put some on the Saints defense to play honest.
Those are our picks for the DraftKings NFL Thursday Night Showdown Saints vs Cowboys Week 13. Thank you for reading & good luck!
